Ethical Consumer magazine is one of the most trusted names in ethical circles ( subscribe here). Now it's launched its own 'Best Buy Label' to cut through greenwash and highlight companies whose ethical principles run straight to the core. The label aims to be a clear and authoritative endorsement.
"The Ethical Consumer Best Buy Label gives shoppers the confidence that they are making the best possible ethical and environmental choice," says Rob Harrison, Ethical Consumer's editor. "We strongly believe that the Best Buy Label brings much needed clarity to an increasingly complicated market." Top-notch ethical companies have already signed up to the scheme, with products ranging from organic whisky to washing-up liquid, trainers to telephone landlines.
Check out the magazine's sister site: Ethiscore.org for reports on products in 23 main categories.
